It was the Triton Plus top range manual six speed with the new 2.4L Mivec 4 cylinders eco engine with 181 bHP and 430 nM torque. The 5 auto was in the showroom but not available for test driving at that time. I was very impressed with the comfort and quietness of the new Triton.
It has a huge torque and in flat landscape most drivers may skip changing gears since it is so powerful with 430 nM torque. For instance you can easily go from 4th to 6th... Not a thing I am used to, but I don't see the point of changing gears if it doesn't need to.
Of course it would be different if the pickup was loaded or towing and in montainous conditions. I did not film while driving, though there are loads of video available on the net. I am soon posting the one I made around the car.
To be honest I prefer the look of Nissan Navara, but I loved driving the Triton and it might be my choice in the future. Waiting for 2015 Toyota Vigo that is around the corner too.
